It's Shoe Time: Kat Maconie

Kat Maconie
Earlier this year at London Fashion Week I noticed a pair of stunning shoes in the press gallery and fell in love. Simple black pumps with a geometric fuschia platform with gorgeous gold piping, they were beyond gorgeous and I needed a pair!

The shoes in question were by LCF grad (good on ya girl!) Kat Maconie, who set up her own label in 2009 and has since had shoes featured in all the good glossies and on the most stylish ladies. These metallic blue heels have been particularly popular this season- and with good reason. I'd wear with white for a futuristic sporty look!

The distinctively chunky heels and gorgeous details make Kat Maconie's shoes lustworthy and very unique, and while showing off the shoes available now I have also treated you to a little sneak peek of her next season collection (race you to the orange shoe boots?)

The best part? The heels (available online here) are nowhere near as expensive as they look- all around £200, roughly a Kurt Geiger price point but a million times more original.

Let me know what you think!

Sunshine Smile

I love yellow! It doesn't suit me, it isn't easy to pull off, but I still absolutely love it. Primrose through to mustard, it is such a happy colour and as soon as I see it I almost cheer up!

Our little taste of Summer may have been short lived as snow decides to rear it's ugly head once again, but lets relive it with a beautiful buttery patent Mulberry and these Missguided shoes that I literally can't stop featuring on here! I think I just need to put myself out of my misery and buy a pair. Here's hoping I did okay last term at LCF, so I can justify treating myself to these gorgeous boots (buy them here)... and i'll just keep dreaming on the Mulberry front!

Mid Week Mossy

Excuse my recent lack of posts- I have been on holiday where wi-fi is beyond temperamental. My salvation has been the fact that the local newsagent stocks Grazia- THANK GOD.

However, I have put together a few little image-based pieces for you to enjoy! Hope you like!

First up is Kate in these GORGEOUS peachy trousers. Pairing with simple black pieces, Kate shows that pastel colours do not have to be saccharine sweet. These Zara slouchy trousers are just like Kate's but are so comfortable- perfect for summer sunshine!

Acid Yellow? Easy Peasy!

This 'Three Floor' dress is a gorgeous, fashion forward piece to invest in (£68 here). The cut looks very Victoria by Victoria Beckham-esque and the neoprene fabric is very flattering, the best part, however, is the gorgeous zingy colour- perfect for this unseasonably warm weather!

It isn't the easiest colour to work, but I have shown four ways that you could style it, and hopefully one will suit you!

First up, we have the elegant take on the dress. Worn with a beautifully cut creamy blazer by Reiss, statement pewter jewellery by Mawi and Zoe & Morgan, slick luxurious heels by Kurt Geiger and a bargain clutch from Zara, the dress is pared down and sophisticated. Perfect for summer drinks or even work (if you work somewhere glamourous that is...)

Next we have the more youthful approach. Worn with converse, kooky sunglasses, amazing kitsch nail wraps and a nipped in denim jacket, the look is a fun take on the pretty dress. The AMAZING earrings (available online here) just finish it off perfectly.

If you want to look seriously on trend, but not OTT, then pairing the neon dress with gorgeous snakeskin and enviable Zara heels is the way to go! Again, we have a beautiful piece of jewellery by Bauble Bar (buy here- I love it all!) to add a little bit of interest to the simple neckline, and neutral snake accessories and neutral nails to pare it down without looking boring.

Finally, you could go all out and channel ADR with a mixture of vivid neon shades! This little Moto biker is amazing and flattering and looks great with these accessories. The Kurt Geiger bracelets are beautiful and not at all garish, and look really cute with the novelty gummy bear ring (buy it here- so sweet!) and these layered pendants (find them online here- I love!). The Missguided boots that i'm in love with just finish the look off perfectly- prepare to be street style snapped!

Hope you like!

Lookbook Love

I am in LOVE with the new Zara April lookbook. Like genuinely feel sad that I can't afford it all! It is all so, so, so gorgeous! From the acid bright statement jewellery, to distressed denim and slick creamy tailoring, I am just head over heels with this collection.

Top of my wishlist are the necklace, the white bouclé jacket and the studded cream blouse. I LONG for the aquatic themed dress but I know I don't have the long legs or the right look to pull it off (violins out please)

See more here, but I would not recommend doing so if you are poor like me. It's depressing.

Monday

Sport Relief

Next week's Sport Relief got me thinking and I couldn't resist a little post about SS12's trickiest trend: Sport Luxe. Whether you go for a little nod to sportiness with an outdoorsy beauty look, or all-out in Alexander Wang's running shorts, this look is fun, fresh and very cool!

And the reason for the little video is that You Make My Dreams Come True is my number one, all time favourite good mood/running song EVER. Why not embrace this trend whole heartedly and revamp your gym kit and jog off to that perfect bikini body? I have every intention to... once I can afford Stella McCartney Adidas that is!

Sunday

Fenton= New Obsession

This weeks' Grazia featured a gorgeous piece by Fenton (available at Liberty), and I just fell head over heels in love. I am obsessed with statement jewellery, and this stuff is every bit as gorgeous as my favourite brands like Mawi. I adore the pastels shades and would do anything to own one of the pieces! Definitely one to watch.

The chunky necklaces would be perfect with a nude shorts suit and bright heels for a fabulous evening look, or to lift a crisp white shirt and skinny jeans for day.

SS12's Winning Formula!

by Shona Wallace, @SWfashion_
I adore this look. Like actually love it.

It is just so clean, so elegant and so youthful, and it couldn't be easier to pull off!

I think Christopher Kane is just a genius, and this season he really has outdone himself (check out my Kane worshipping in this post, or this one about a particularly stunning dress!)

LABEL ALERT: My Eye on The Sugar High!

by Shona Wallace, @SWfashion_

This beautiful dress featured in last nights Evening Standard, and I just fell in love! I had to a do a little post on it, as did my lovely friend Nicole Campanaro of Pink Flamingo Kisses (check out her post here!)

It is just the most gorgeous dress possibly ever! Designed by Han Chong, a CSM grad who is now creative director of the amazing boutique website Three Floor Fashion.

I share this shop with you somewhat begrudgingly as I feel I want it all!

Enjoy!

My days of searching for perfect party and evening dresses are long gone!

Jumpers £36 each at Topshop

It's a beautiful, cheerful day in London and the sun is well and truly out. Nevertheless, it's still more than a little bit nippy out there!

Topshop are, once again, my saviours and these pretty and kooky pastel shade jumpers are just the ticket to combat the cold and still get a bit of pretty spring style into your look.

I also instantly thought of this brilliant MIA song when I saw the jumpers and had to include it!

(If you'd like to "tweet me like tweety-bird on your iPhone", do not hesitate to follow me @SWfashion_)

These jumpers are just perfect to wear with rolled up slouchy denim and white converse for a relaxed weekend look that still packs a bit of S/S punch. I love them!
