One Dress, Two Ways: A Slip of a Thing

I am awful at packing for summer holidays. I am terribly indecisive, and therefore always end up with about ten dresses too many. This year, for example, my Amalfi coast kit consists of fifteen dresses, even after two meticulous edits. 

That being said, I am learning to be a smart summertime shopper, buying pieces that will work both home and away. Sure, I love a sweeping grecian gown as much as the next girl, but try wearing said maxi in Victoria station during rush hour. You may fall down the stairs, lose a stud on your sandals and split your toenail. Not speaking from experience or anything...

A smarter option this summer is the slip dress; a foolproof summer staple. Classic, elegant and comfortable, my pick is this Whistles Nell style in silky french navy. Falling just on the knee ('cause I'm classy like that), the spaghetti strap dress skims the hips with a slightly dipped hem, making it particularly flattering for boyish frames. The colour is a welcome change from black, and the simplicity of the dress makes it perfect for work or play. 

Round the Block

During the winter months I am rarely seen without a heeled ankle boot. From where I am sitting I can see eight pairs of black, almond-toe leather ankle boots, and that is but a sample of my expansive  collection. I have, however, reached a seasonal turning point: it's hot, hot, hot in London, and there really is no place for boots when it is above 20ºc. Also, nothing looks more confused than a sunshine yellow chiffon dress with black Chelsea boots.

I love ankle boots as they are versatile, practical and flattering. Heels are simultaneously powerful and feminine, but they must always be comfortable, for no one wants throbbing feet by lunchtime.

Behold, my spring/summer 2014 solution: the block heeled sandal. When in Barcelona for a friend's 21st earlier this year, I visited the ZARA mothership and treated myself to these tan leather strappies. Often ZARA shoes can cut feet up, but these are crafted from soft leather, making them comfy enough for everyday wear. The tan shade is totally versatile, not as harsh as black but not too girlish like nude.

My next purchase will be a black version. Though I am dreaming of the Whistles Gia style, I think I may opt for these H&M leather strappies with gold buckle detailing. Wear with structured midi skirts for an elegant city chic look.

BEST OF THE REST

She Could've Been a Killer

1. My Bowie obsession is probably a little unhealthy. Just ask my poor flatmates who were recently subject to my choruses of "THIS IS GROUND CONTROL TO MAJOR TOM" while cleaning the kitchen on a hungover Sunday morning. I feel that the time has come for me to bite the bullet and invest in this fabulous Ziggy Stardust sweater by my beloved Maje. Maje-or Tom would certainly approve. It is £130 here.

2. & Other Stories nail polishes are pretty as a picture, and this Melton Sunset shade is next on my must-have list. Red hot with just a touch of sunset orange, the matte shade will add a pop of Summer vibrance to polished tips and toes. It is just £5 here.

3. I have been seeking a great bargain foundation for a while now, and I think I have found my one true love- Revlon Photoready. The coverage is buildable, covering imperfections without caking. It promises to give the illusion of flawless skin in photographs, so what could be better for those impromptu Somerset House style snaps? It is £12.99 at Boots. My tip is to layer with the liquid PhotoReady concealer- also Revlon- and finish with a dusting of Bourjois Healthy Mix powder.

4. I have finally invested in a backpack, but sadly it is nowhere near as stylish as this fabulous VERITY style by Whistles. I spotted this at the press day and have been dreaming of it since. The buttery white leather is crisp, clean and classic, while the size is just right for fashion week essentials.  At £275 it is an investment piece, but at least you can't contest it's practicality? 5. Orelia's delicate jewellery, stocked in Topshop, is my go-to for trinkety little pieces to decorate my wrists and fingertips. These mixed metal midi-rings are great for drawing attention to perfectly manicured hands- they also make for great girly gifts. They are £10 here. 

6. Another Whistles hit, this golden bolt cuff adds a little gloss to the look. It is £35 here and is a contender for my next pay-day purchase. The bolt = very Aladdin Sane.

7. Picking a favourite piece in Zara at the moment is not easy. They seem to up their game every season, and SS14 is no exception. Zara is, and always shall be, my happy place (sorry Cafe Nero- you're a close second). If I were to choose just one ensemble to add to my wardrobe, it would probably be this leather trimmed tweedy mini with matching biker jacket. It's so Alexander Wang at Balenciaga, particularly when paired with a sheer white blouse and a little midriff peekaboo. Be a devil and treat yourself here - the skirt is £39.99.

8. Last but not least, kick up your look with these buckled peep-toe ankle boots, also from Zara. They are chunky and clunky but still suitably sexy. In a word? Strutworthy. They are £99.99 here, but they will work with any look across the seasons.

This season I have made the informed decision to fully boycott London Fashion Week. With my dissertation due in a matter of weeks, it made great sense for me to shun all LFW frivolities, instead opting for quinoa gingerbread men, GIRLS boxsets and a little bit of at-home Pilates. Did someone say C-H-I-C?

So while the fashion pack are gallivanting around London toting their Meli Melos, fueled by Marlboros, Manolos and Instagram-Hashtag-Hype (#LFWtimelinebitchez/ #donthatemecuzyouaintme), I am seeking out other modes of procrastination. My current pick? Twitter gem @Daily_Kale.

I  have a wealth of LFW shows to catch up on for AW14 - I hear Whistles was a knockout?- but I, like the rest of the population, am still in SS14 mode. With my first Spring holiday booked, I am spending every waking moment daydreaming of backlessness, crop-tops, printed two-pieces and sugar sweet pointed pumps.

I digress.

Above is what I would be wearing if I could be tempted away from the British Library. And on that note, ladies, best not wear leather minis to the British Library- I've never had so many shocked glances in my life.

Holiday Wardrobe: St Helena Shopping

While in California, I must admit that Solage was my favourite resort. However, the nearby town of Calistoga left quite a lot to be desired. The nearby St Helena, however, was a treat.

St Helena is, quite clearly, a rather wealthy little town. With an abundance of glittering jewellers, higher end ready-to-wear boutiques and even a luxury shoe store, St Helena is a great place to treat yourself or simply window shop in the sun.

Thankfully we were there over lunch, and were able to to dine at French Blue. French Blue is the most darling little restaurant with a great varied menu including all day brunches and exotic seasonal salads. The restaurant has a distinctly European feel to it, with a bright and lively conservatory dotted with pretty wooden tables and beautiful blooms.

The glass shelves of one window are lined with antique liquor bottles for a unique vintage charm, tying in rather splendidly with their superlative cocktail list. They also have some tasty mocktails for us young'uns such as Nojito's and zesty Strawberry Lemonade.

Spoilt for choice, I kept things simple in ordering a vibrant house salad with chargrilled chicken breast, dressing on the side. Sweet, zingy and fresh, the salad made for the perfect light lunch for a sunny day. Check out the menus here if you fancy a trip.

WHAT I WORE:

For a little browse round St Helena, I opted for a simple camisole and miniskirt look. This frilled Zara skirt is actually from the SS13 collection and has sold out online, but an updated version of the Topshop camisole is available here.

The basic sandals are by Dune and are available here, but I sort of wish that I'd bought these ones instead- they would have been amazing with this look. I spotted them on someone when I was interning at Conde Nast, and I have been smitten ever since.

Accessories-wise I opted for my essential Accessorize floppy hat, this statement Urban Outfitters arm cuff, a gold caged cuff (I love this version) and my Mulberry Mini Alexa in Oak.

Honolulu Honeys

I did intend to do a post with all my favourite pieces from the sales but, by the time I got round to it, all the best bargains were gone- and where's the sense in that? Anyway, the sales savvy amongst you will already have nabbed the goods already. And i'm judging that's most of you.

Still, today I did a little scouting and there are still a few gems out there- starting with this lovely lot. I adore this ensemble- hot like Hawaii.

1. If you're looking for something timeless to buy in the sale, then an Equipment blouse is always a good bet. For something a little more interesting, this striped Leandra blouse (now on sale at Atelier-To-Go for £151) should do rather nicely. I have been fawning over this silken delight since the first Spring shoot we did at Atelier, and I am more than a little bit tempted to buy my very first Equipment blouse. With a nautical meets tropical (nauti-tropi!) look, this blouse is just calling to be teamed with skinny distressed denim on these shores, and a cut-off version on holiday!

2. I don't know whether you heard, but apparently Zara had a sale recently? News to me, of course... If my sarcasm has got lost in pixelation, please do understand that I am more than aware that Zara had a little sale recently- as is my poor, poor credit card. Anyway, most of the gems are long gone, but these jazzy jelly sandals in white with gold studs are still kicking around for a pretty harmless £15.99. One more won't hurt...

3. Psst! Don't tell anyone I told you, but Rebecca Minkoff's glorious leather handbags are now included in the Atelier-To-Go sale, and this little dazzler is reduced to £122. Go, go, go!

4. If you are a fan of distressed denim then up the ante by swapping your faithful boyfriend jeans for a slouchy short alternative. I couldn't believe it when I saw these amazing J Brand Nash shorts slashed to £95 in the Atelier-To-Go sale- it would be rude not to!

Blooming Beautiful: Wedding Wonders

Okay, clever clogs, this post is just a couple of days late... The Chelsea Flower Show took place this weekend with a flurry of fabulous flora engulfing Chelsea. From scrumptious afternoon teas with a floral flair through to champagne pop-ups beside the Saatchi gallery - the atmosphere in Chelsea was absolutely electric, and all these pretty pop-ups proved all-too tempting, as i'm sure you can imagine.

I personally adore Chelsea... The real Chelsea, not that Made in Chelsea lark. The Kings Road has so much to offer and all the surrounding pockets of moneyed marvels. I love the Bluebird, I love the glamourous boutiques and I just adore the vibe of the area, from Sloane Square to Walton Street.

If ever you are stuck for things to do on a Sunny Sunday in London, take a trip to Chelsea and just have a wander- you won't leave disappointed. At the moment, for example, there is the most compelling Hermés exhibition on at the marvellous Saatchi gallery. I went on Saturday with the lovely Kate (check out her enviably chic blog here) but we went at peak time so hardly got a chance to look around... Guess that means we'll have to go back? What a chore (!)

Anyway, I digress, for this post is all about occasionwear, this time inspired by the beautiful blooms at the RHS Chelsea flower show. The perfect feminine look for Summer weddings, I love this Zimmermann dress paired with the painterly floral jacket and futuristic clean accents. I feel that this look balances elegance with trend-led touches for a punchy but wholly versatile look.

1) I adore the simplistic design of Whistles handbags and clutches, and the Rivington clutch is a contemporary classic- without the price-tag that usually comes with such an accolade! In this sweet vanilla shade, this spacious pouch with golden accents is a relaxed clutch that will work for day or evening. It is £75 here. 

2) I have been obsessed with Australian boutique brand Zimmermann for a fair few seasons now, with both their RTW and swim collections boasting a sexy but subtle femininity. Atelier-To-Go have tailor picked a selection of simple SS13 dresses from the brand, which you can shop here, but my favourite has to be this raspberry ruched number, also available at Austique (on the Kings Road). This dazzling Dazed dress is flirtatious and romantic but still fashion-forward with flattering ruching and the most glorious movement in the skirt. It is £375 here.

3) Kate Spade is my go-to shop for gloriously girly gifts. I accidentally stumbled upon the store Westfield a few months ago and I can't stop popping in since- there are SO many kitsch and cute things that I never need, but always want. A New York label, I can't wait to pop in this July when I head across the pond. If you have a little time to kill then do check out their Fathom for Kate Spade city guides here- they are awesome. Anyway, this golden bow bracelet is high up on my must-have list, and has been for a few seasons. You can shop it here.

4) Floral scents are a Summer essential, and this new one from Jo Malone smells every bit as pretty as it looks. The Osmanthus Blossom scent is light but sophisticated, a complex floral that balances sweet blossom notes with a touch of the exotic. With tones of peach and apricot, artfully balanced with white florals this is a dreamy daytime scent. You can treat yourself here, where the cologne is £76 for 100ml or £38 from 30ml. 

5) Essie, Essie, Essie... The things you do to me. This balletic pink nail polish- Muchi Muchi- is such a staple shade and will work all throughout Summer. 

6) I really must stop buying jackets, but this one is next on my agenda. A fabulous floral print that marries together shades of coral, magenta, aqua and lime, this flattering cropped blazer certainly belies it's £69.99 price-tag. Ideal for jazzing up a dress for a wedding, this jacket will work with everything from icy whites through to on-trend neons. You can shop the jacket at Zara here.

7) I may, just may, have purchased these ASOS shoes with the 20% student discount. Well, a girl's gotta treat herself. These white caged sandals instantly reminded me of the Alexander Wang ones I have been obsessed with since I first laid eyes on the SS13 collection, and I simply had to have these. The nude sandals just got shunnned: it's all about bright white. They are £42, but if you are quick you can still grab them with 20% off with Unidays!

What's Up Stud?

Mmm it's going to be a scorcher this weekend, so I have spent the majority of today trawling the internet looking for all sorts of ludicrously scimpy outfits that I can wear while i'm still young and fun and all that stuff.

It's my new way of convincing myself that it's okay to spend nearly £200 on one Zara spree... After all, girls, this is the best we are going to look, so may as well make the most of it.

While thinking of a nice little post to do today, I had a little browse on Zoe Karssen's website and found a rather apt sweater (here) "Live Fast Cause It Won't Last", which I feel pretty much sums up my warblings. Beside the sweater was this killer tee and I decided to do a post featuring this Suicide Blonde tee with some sexy punky accessories.

If I could afford this outfit (which I can't... just so you know!) I would most certainly be slinging it in my suitcase for my upcoming trip to New York where I shall be visiting the Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibition at The Met. How chic... How apt!

1. New York designer Joomi Lim is pretty much an obsession of mine at the moment, and this London Calling necklace with pearls and mixed metals is just the thing to jazz up this sexy slouchy t-shirt. I adore pieces that marry silver, gold and gunmetal together seamlessly, and this necklace 100% does that. I am such a statement necklace freak, but this one needs to be mine.

2. When I first spotted this Suicide Blonde varsity tee by Zoe Karssen I was a little bit smitten. It's such a relaxed, cool and fresh tee with a gorgeously flattering neckline. It is around €60, but it is worth it for Zoe Karssen tees are such great quality- so fine and soft.

3. I recently did an interview with Katie Canvin, the lovely co-founder of the glorious Austique boutiques in London, and she tipped me off about this amazing jewellery designer she found in NYC. Jacqui Aiche do the most gorgeously delicate body jewellery including this bracelet ring chain, which will hopefully be coming to Austique very soon. Stay tuned London ladies, or keep checking their website if you're no local.

4. Rebecca Minkoff handbags are another NYC staple, and this iconic MAC clutch in basic black with gleaming golden hardware is a great investment. These handbags are such gorgeous quality, and what I really love about them is that not everyone has one. You can grab this gorgeous number at Atelier-To-Go. If you don't, I will, so get them before they all go. 

5. Boticca jewellery is my one-stop-online-shop for quirky, beautiful jewellery at reasonably accessible pricepoints. These shark tooth bangles from UK based designer Beau & Arrow are just edgy enough to add a little punky punch to this über cool look. 

6. This Zara white "skort" is not to everyone's liking, but I love the directional origami-esque front, perfect for smartening up a casual tee. They also come in black and make for a great wardrobe staple with a little fashion-forward touch.

7. Last but not least, the most beautiful shoes I have ever seen... Well, this season at least. These Balenciaga motorcycle wedges are available at Matches for a cool £600 but they are so, so, so, so divine. Is it possible to be attracted to a shoe? 

Graphic and Kaleidoscopic

1. I love browsing Atelier-To-Go for the most exciting luxury labels and the freshest edit of the moment, and their latest drop from Rebecca Minkoff is worth a peek. This bright yellow Markey oversized clutch has been a huge hit at the office, and I have certainly got my eye on it. High quality leather with edgy zip detailing, this punchy piece is a unique and practical pop of colour for the season ahead. You can purchase it here for £243.

2. I am always on the look out for exciting jewellery labels to satisfy my sparkle cravings, and Joomi Lim jewellery is my new favourite. Available in Liberty and online here, New York label Joomi Lim's jewellery marries twinkling Swarovski crystals with futuristic neon accents and slightly punky detailing. This  delightful necklace from the Let Them Eat Cake collection would be the perfect way to pep up a simple outfit or add a touch of gloss to your failsafe black dress. 3. I am a sucker for Essie nail polishes and their Spring 2013 collection is yummy to say the least. Check out the stunning shades here for some Summer sun inspiration. My pick has to be the fresh marine shade, charmingly titled Avenue Maintain, which is an uplifting sunny day treat- a pretty Parisian blue. You can shop them here for £9.95.

4. Zara's shoes really are bang on this season and I was pretty much spoilt for choice when putting together this collage. These cobalt strappies are simple, minimal and elegant but still punchy enough to make an impact. They are a great heel height as well for daytime, while the open sandal style is ideal for the warmer months. Check them out here.

5. Oops i've been rather naughty and have spent yet MORE money. This week I treated myself to not one, not two but three silky spaghetti strap camisoles from Topshop. I wear creamy camis all the time so it would have been rude not to treat myself to this infinitely versatile style from good old Toppers- a snip at just £18 here. I love these slouchy tops worn with a really pretty bra (Marks & Spencer have some delicious macaroon shade lingerie coming in this season- sneak peek here but post will follow), super skinny jeans and heels- perfect for a relaxed first date. 

6. When I laid eyes on this Clover Canyon skirt I was torn. It's so bold, so statement and so NOT me, but the more I see it the more I love it and I am now a little bit obsessed. It doesn't look it, but this neoprene skirt is ultra flattering, clinging softly to the hips for a sexy but fun aesthetic with a futuristic and flamboyant floral. A totally reasonable £175 here, this sculpting skirt is a hypnotic Summer hit.I love Californian label Clover Canyon, one of British Vogue's labels to watch, and we have such a delicious collection at Atelier-To-Go here. 

Pastel Sophistication

1. This Princess necklace by Mawi is a dream.
2. I love this Whistles creamy handbag - so chic.
3. This £10 Accessorize ring really does belie it's wonderful price tag.
4. I LOVE Zara's shoes at the moment and very nearly bought these block heel rose gold courts today.
5. It's nearly sold out online, but this pretty pink cami from Topshop is a steal at £18- a great summer essential.
6. The minute I tried these palazzo pants on, I fell in love. I can't quite bring myself to spend on a pair of white chiffon trousers that are so elegantly floor-sweeping... For they'll get filthy in NO time at all. But a girl can dream... And these are dreamy. 

Plastic Fantastic

Ready to get plastic fantastic?

Say so long to that good old black/silver/bright clutch for the future, my friends, is crystal clear.

While these little boxy clutches are hardly practical, and not great for us messy sorts, these clutches are infinitely versatile and ideal for those with plenty to show off.

Just enough room for a striking purse, a slick iPhone case and some stylish make-up. Simple as that: you're good to go.

I particularly love the Charlotte Olympia offering (of course I do: it's ridiculously expensive and unattainable) but I feel that the other options are every bit as lovely.

1. This Zara number is a snip at £19.99 and a great way to add a flash of fluoro fun to your look. I'd wear with a simple white shift or separates from Reiss for a cool, modern look.

2. This Mettle clutch, 100% eco-friendly, is one of the more stylish clutches I found on the internet. Crafted from recycled lucite with a brushed gold clasp, this is an elegant take on the trend.  Though i'm not sure where you can buy in the UK, it does make for rather lovely eye-candy in the meantime. 3. The ultimate, this Charlotte Olympia Pandora Classic has already sold out online. With three inserts in leopard print, taupe and black, this boxy perspex clutch features a gorgeously sweet spider clasp for a luxe investment buy (tis a whopping £595 here)

4. Another sold-out little number, this Nasty Gal clear clutch is just fabulously sexy. Their product shot is also the perfect example of what a clear clutch is for: showing off! Get this on your wishlist now, you can shop it here.

5. During London Fashion Week, I spotted blogger Monica Beatrice from The Elgin Avenue carrying this lovely clutch. When she told me it was from Accessorize I simply had to keep it in mind for a post, and this is it's moment to shine. In on-trend polka dots, this clutch features a taupe inner pocket for a neutral but contemporary little clutch. Plus, it's a snip at £29 here.

FutureFab

Today I have submitted my LCF project for the term- yay! Future based, I felt it all too apt to post this lovely Topshop Unique dress which just exudes a space age sex appeal. Who knew there was such a thing?

1. I know it's not a handcuff... But it really looks like one... This Zara "Bracelet" clutch is a fabulous update on the classic black pouch clutch with a directional silver frame and silver cuff detailing. It would look so great with this organza panelled dress.

2. I adore these Zara peep-toe ankle strap pumps. In glossy mirror metallic silver, these sandals are futuristic and comfortable and look so high end.

3. My favourite dress on the Topshop site at the moment, this Topshop Unique dress with sheer organza panelling is fresh and modern and looks wonderful with silver accents.

4. For a luxe touch, add this MAWI pewter honeycomb cuff with bold gem detailing.

5. Midi rings are back in a big way and these £6.50 rings from Topshop are a cheap and cheerful way to tap into the trend.

Happy Valentines Day ya'll! Hope you have a lovely day, single or not so.

Anyway, what with Pancake Day, Pancakelentines Day (The 13th... What do you MEAN you didn't celebrate?!) and now Valentines Day sort of out the way, we can focus all our attention and excitement on London Fashion Week which dawns tomorrow.

With the launch party for #HPMLFW this evening (if you're going to be there, drop me a wee tweet at @SWfashion_ ) and lots of exciting shows tomorrow, I am officially excited.

3. What could be sweeter for Spring than some lemon yellow pointed stilettos from Whistles. The entire Whistles SS13 collection is a knockout, and their footwear is particularly stellar. These suede pointed courts are perfect with pretty neutrals or with other bold shades and are a great way to breathe life into simple Fashion Week looks.

4. Aaah The Kooples. If ever i'm rich and famous can we agree, Mr and Mrs Koople, that you will provide me with a full wardrobe season by season, primarily made up of these immaculate little jackets? Cool, i'm glad we've got that sorted. This creamy double breasted blazer from their new Spring collection, dotted with gleaming gold buttons, is the perfect way to keep out the chill without ruining the flirty shade of the dress. It's £315, but the cut makes it a wise little extravagance. 

5. Another season, another collection of Zara handbags to make me even poorer. In a bold, uplifting tribal print, this boxy clutch belies the £39.99 pricetag and is a great way to marry these bright shades together. Someone try and dissuade me from buying this... I don't think I can resist much longer!

6. The finishing touch? A fluoro nail polish that is just the ticket for instagram ready nails. This bright Portobello polish from Nails Inc is perhaps my favourite summer shade as it really brings a smile to my face, while also making me look nice and tanned. It'll look fabulous with this clutch as well! For £11, it's 100% worth it.

That is my life it seems, and as the LFW invites start to come in, I have been left with a maddening panic of OMIGOD-WHAT-AM-I-GOING-TO-WEAR-ALL-MY-CLOTHES-ARE-UGLY.

Today I let my gaze fall on this divine blue skirt from Whistles. It's just beautiful for Fashion Week flirtation, particularly with these killer Kurt Geiger ankle boots.

1. A silk t-shirt really is a bit of a contemporary classic, and those lovely folk at REISS have done this classic silk front tee in a number of summery shades for those of us who like to spend that little bit extra on timeless classics. This clean blue shade is bang on for SS13, but will also work just as well now with some skinny black leathers.

2. This accordion pleat 'Carrie' skirt from Whistles has become something of an icon ever since the fashion crowd went Carrie Crazy back when the first candy pink offering hit the stores. I love the muted, unusual petrol blue shade of this skirt which softly whispers summertime sweetness, while still maintaining just enough edge to work in the chillier months.

3. With such an understated and demure ensemble, the accessories really have to bring a little something extra to the picture, and this chain detail collar from Zara shall do just that. I love Zara's purse-friendly collections of bold, statement jewellery and this one is a slightly cleaner take on a collar necklace.

4. Excuse me while I compose myself. Following a big discussion with a friend at ATELIER-TO-GO HQ this morning about the demise of the Céline handbag (could this be another case of death by WAG?!) and the surge of other luxury brands in the handbag market, I felt it high time to reacquaint myself with Proenza Schouler. Then I found this navy offering and fell in love. The rest, they say, is history... Or bankruptcy, perhaps, for this little treasure costs a cool £1365.

5. Marry in the gloss of the necklace with this pack of three chunky ASOS chain bracelets in gold, brass and pewter. I am really into clashing metals at the moment (I know- fashion faux pas!) and this little set is a great way to ease in. Who wants to be boring and matchy-matchy all the time anyway?

6. Ankle boots are my favourite shoes, and this cream pair by Kurt Geiger London are my new season favourites. They would look incredible with the muted marine shades of this look, and I don't doubt for one second that these sweetly titled SODA boots are the perfect summer style.

LFW Dream Wardrobe #1

It's just a few days until London Fashion Week, so naturally i'm spending all my money and buying lots of silly bits and pieces that I don't need but want... Lots.

1. This Reiss lounge suit in the most divine shade of off-white is a demure look for taking you from day to evening. With a slick boat neck and elegant 3/4 sleeves, this is flattering and stylish and all it needs is a little spicing up with some killer accessories.

2. Leopard Print. Zara. Handbag. I'm sold. This new season leopard print number is a gorgeous little bag to add a touch of wild charm to your LFW look.

3. This raspberry ripple polish from Essie is a rich shade that complements every look. It even has a tasty name: Extoric Liras.

4. I love this bejewelled ASOS belt which as a distinct MAWI charm to it, but it is just £20. This would look yummy paired with this lovely slouchy jumpsuit.

5. My latest indulgence? These studded Zara kitten heels. YES. THEY ARE KITTEN HEELS OKAY. I feel awful to have bought kitten heels, a lifelong advocate of "go high or go home", but I really like these. They kind of remind me of the Valentino Rockstuds, and could that ever be a bad thing?! They are perfect for adding a little edge to soft cream pieces.

6. These River Island cuffs will add a futuristic look to any outfit, and I love the clean simplicity. They are only £8 each, so it's more than okay to buy both for that extra fashion-edge.

Christmas is just around the corner, so I thought i'd do a little outfit post- this look is the perfect understated look for Christmas cocktails... Just be careful on the ice with these fabulous Zara booties, okay?!

1. This little Topshop camisole is my new hero piece- it is flattering, pretty and glamourous with a lovely lacy back. On top of it all, it's got a double-layered front to avoid an embarrassing bra clash! I love it tucked into high waisted jeans/shorts, or worn loose over leather leggings (try Miss Selfridge for a great pair at just £18) This little beauty will set you back a rather reasonable £28.

2. Psssst! The Kooples have their sale on- get in line! I absolutely adore The Kooples, particularly their razor sharp tailoring. They have some gorgeous pieces reduced in their latest sale including this perfect black jacket and a slightly more festive offering with a gold leather collar- snazzy! This lovely jacket- which is a real winner in cost per wear terms is reduced to £238. 

3. I am a firm believer that when Christmas shopping, one really must have the "one for you, one for me" approach. After buying some Christmas cards in Paperchase, I felt it only fair that I had a little gander round Miss Selfridge. I then saw these studded super stretch jeans and accidentally bought them... They are glitzy but not OTT and the fit is truly fabulous- tight but with a little stretch. Cut a fine figure and pair with a silky cami. £45

4. This is my new favourite perfume - L'Ombre Dans L'Eau by Diptyque. Though Tom Ford Violet Blonde made the Christmas list this year, I am madly in love with this delectable scent. It is floral but fresh, sweet but seductive and I just love it! Anyone want to treat me?... £50 from Liberty

5. All together now... AWW! This Alex Monroe charm bracelet is the perfect gift for a loved one this Christmas- delicate but a little edgy, I love the key charms- £135

6. This Rock'N'Rose Key charm necklace at £21 is a lovely partner to this dainty Alex Monroe bracelet and is the perfect understated pendant to go with everything from sexy separates through to grecian maxi dresses with decadent layered pendants.

7. I have always been a big fan of Marks & Spencers handbags- they are very much design led, and not everyone knows to look in good old M&S when hunting for a handbag. This quilted patent number with glossy gold detail is beautifully made and has a real high-end quality, plus it's only £25

8. Last but not least, I give you my favourite ankle boots ever! Okay... This week. I love these Zara leopard print heels. They are just so ferociously hot and I want them... NOW. After all, I haven't met a leopard print I didn't like!

Yes, it's official, basically every necklace on the blog is from Zara, but they are sooo pretty and such good value!

Anyhow, onwards we go, and I just had to share with you all my latest purchase- this incredibly chic and versatile jumpsuit from Topshop. It fits like an absolute dream, is so comfortable and you can dress it up or down (which is my catchphrase, by the way)

It is the perfect blank canvas for seriously killer accessories like the ones I have featured in this edit- ie this delicious Mulberry handbag and these vicious Zara heels that are just the right side of tacky... Gotta love a bit of leopard print.

The internet is full of all sorts of wisdom isn't it? Todays blog post nabbed it's title from a little phrase I saw on Facebook this morning and fell in love with.

And this dress by Three Floor Fashion is very much a case in point.

I have been crazy about Three Floor since I spotted their dresses in The Evening Standard (see my initial post here) and there new collection is their strongest yet, in my view.

This hot pink lace dress is just so beautiful and totally belies it's £98 price tag. It is unique, stunning and wonderfully made. I won't tell them it's not McQueen if you don't. Pair with black accessories to tone down the pretty pink lace and add an almost sinister edge.

I'm all about Parisian labels, and Carven is one of my all time favourites. I have been lusting after collection after collection, and though I wasn't overly keen on the SS13 show, Carven have redeemed themselves by teaming up with another French institution: Petit Bateau.

The collection will include pieces for him, for her and for the little one and it shall go on sale in November exclusively in Colette in Paris (the ultimate fashion store!) before the collection is rolled out to worldwide Petit Bateau stores in December. 

My favourite piece has to be this sexy little red dress. Long legs are a must though, guess that is me out!
