Pucker up ladies – Valentine's is just around the corner!

So whether you've got yourself some dreamboat boyfriend, whisking you off to some glamorous getaway, or you're a single pringle ready and raring for a good old night out, make sure you dress to thrill.

Christopher Kane's beautiful macramé lace dress has totally stolen my heart and I would do anything to make it mine. Partnered with a lovey-dovey Olympia Le Tan clutch and Bionda Castana's flirty scalloped shoes from their upcoming collab with LK Bennett, it's totally 'The One'.

Beauty-wise, it's all about replicating that candelit glow with a little help from Tom Ford and Hourglass. Contour below the cheekbone with Tom Ford's cult Shade and Illuminate palette, add a little peachy-toned blush and finish with a light dusting of Hourglass' Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder along the high points of your face to capture the light (and, you know, everyone's hearts).

Finish off your look of love with the new Patent Finish Lip Colour from Tom Ford. The innovative, formula combines the staying power of a stain with a tempting high-shine finish. In the most ravishing red, Stolen Cherry is ideal for date night.

Kisses all round!

#EEKtothenextlev

I am usually one to jump to Christopher Kane's defence, but even I was left unconvinced by THOSE clompy pool shoes. Even on leggy, gorgeous models the shoes are unflattering and I seriously doubt any stylist could make them look good!

But that's just my opinion, and maybe it is time for something new, original and fresh on the shoe front. So if Louboutins aren't floating your boat this season, and your Jimmy Choo sandals are feeling a bit tired, why not don a pair of chunky pool shoes? If practicality is your thing that is...

I'm afraid I won't be joining you on that one.

Wednesday

Cheap but Chic

It's Valentines soon but BLEUGH let's just forget all that silly nonsense (can you tell i'm single?), and focus on the upcoming London Fashion Week which, naturally, is going to be jam packed full of fashion fabulous events that budding fashion journalists like me live for!

There are SO many things going on that i'm just longing to be a part of but, alas, i'm not big enough, clever enough or important enough to actually be invited to any shows (and cue violins) so will just have to linger around Somerset House and observe the beauty of the best of the fashion weeks!

However, for plebs like me there are still some lovely bits and bobs to look forward to in the capital over the next few weeks. Firstly we have the launch of Topshop's latest project, which is a celebration of their fantastic work with NEWGEN from the last ten years. Low and behold some of the most gorgeous t-shirts I have seen in a very long time coming from a number of cool brands like Christopher Kane and MeadhamKirchoff and even my beloved Erdem.  The t-shirts will also help to raise money for the Centrepoint charity, so it's fashion fabulousness sans guilt! The best part? They are just £30, so you can flaunt your fashion credibility loud and proud, without having to abuse your credit card. The t-shirts go on sale on the 17th at Topshop and the exciting LFW pop-up at Selfridges. I will no doubt be seeing you there (hands off the Holly Fulton one in S/M... it's mine.)

SS12's Winning Formula!

by Shona Wallace, @SWfashion_
I adore this look. Like actually love it.

It is just so clean, so elegant and so youthful, and it couldn't be easier to pull off!

I think Christopher Kane is just a genius, and this season he really has outdone himself (check out my Kane worshipping in this post, or this one about a particularly stunning dress!)

SS12 Lust List : Item 1

VERSUS by Christopher Kane SS12

VERSUS by Christopher Kane SS12

NEW BLOG FEATURE!

I am going to compile a fantasy lust list for this season with every piece that I just can not get enough of, and this dress is a great place to start because I am, quite frankly, in love.

If you could bottle Christopher Kane's immense talent, the fashion world would be an even better place. His work at his own label this season was inspired, and his collection for Versace Versus was one of his best yet (after last season, which was a bit of a let down for me!)

This dress is my favourite piece from the Versus collection. It is part sport-luxe, part ballerina and I adore it. The skirt is inspired by cheerleaders, and the splits and pleats give it such fantastic movement and keep it youthful. The cut is superb and very flattering on a boyish shape (like my own- Andrej Pejic is perhaps bustier than me) in that it cinches at the waist and kicks out, creating curves where there are none!

I love the cut-out detail which stops the candy pink chiffon becoming too saccharine sweet, and the overall effect is very modern and sexy.

It is so on-trend, but still is a little bit timeless and unique. The candyfloss pink shade fits with the trend for pastels (again?! well it is Spring...) and the varsity look is also hot this season (led by Mr. Kane, natch).

What new season pieces have got you all in a daydream? Let me know!

All comments are welcome, and very much appreciated!
