The New Fashion Curator

If you follow me on Twitter then you will most likely be aware that I am actively involved with the luxury e-commerce boutique, Atelier-To-Go.

I have been working with Team Atelier since the very beginning and I am so lucky to be a part of this exciting venture. There is so much energy, love and talent in the mix at Atelier-To-Go, and I feel that it is this passion which will allow Atelier to shine in the busy online shopping environment.

E-Commerce is developing at such a rapid pace, particularly within the luxury sector, but I really do feel that Atelier-To-Go stands out. Conveniently, each and every collection on the site is finely tuned to avoid the confusing wealth of choice we are used to. Atelier-To-Go is simplicity redefined, accessible and luxurious fashion without any of the fuss.

What's more, Atelier-To-Go doesn't feel even remotely intimidating. High-fashion can impart fear in the best of us, even those who are usually self-assured. While I certainly don't fall into the latter category there, I will put my hands up and say that though I found London Fashion Week incredible, I also found it somewhat disheartening. This fashion lark is a tough old gig, no matter how much you love it, so I can only imagine how fearsome the land of CelinĂ© and McQueen must be those who don't share my enthusiasm. I know firsthand that Atelier-To-Go strives to make high fashion feel pleasant, playful and, above all, easy.

Atelier-To-Go offers an authoritative voice on fashion that we can actually trust: Atelier-To-Go isn't a stereotypical fashion girl who subsists on Diet Coke and cigarettes, rather an intellectual fashion editor who knows just what we want from our wardrobes and HOW we want it.

I feel that this ethos is particularly relevant at this moment in time as the fashion industry moves towards a clean, contemporary vision of functionality.

The majority of stylish working women just want their wardrobe to do them justice. We all know what suits us, but part of the problem with online shopping is that there is just too much choice, too much clutter. Atelier-To-Go is clean and curated, with sharply focused editorial content (with fashion features often written by yours truly, the most recent of which you can read here) and contributions from revered fashion experts and icons.

Atelier-To-Go's collections are of the utmost quality and, while nodding to trends where appropriate, the overarching focus is on phenomenal pieces that you can wear and love, time and time again.

Pieces that not everyone has, but everyone will want.

I will, of course, be posting more about Atelier-To-Go as we move towards our launch at the end of this month, but in the meantime I do hope you will check out the site and let me know what you think.

Tell your friends- Atelier-To-Go is too good to miss.

If you are a fellow fashion blogger and would like to get involved with Atelier-To-Go's exclusive Atelier Girl Dress Up competition to win a beautiful Rebecca Minkoff handbag of your choosing, please do just send me an email at shonawallacefashion@gmail.com and I shall be in touch.

LFW Designer Cocktails

London Fashion Week is perhaps my favourite time of year. The atmosphere is truly electric and the talent on show is second to none.

Even if you are not one of the lucky ones clutching a handful of sought-after invitations for the SS13 shows, there will be plenty for you to get excited about when LFW comes around in just fifteen days!

The first little slice of LFW that I can't wait to share with you lovely readers is the London Fashion Week Designer cocktail selection at The May Fair Bar.

I am a little bit of a cocktail obsessive and love nothing more than a delicious concoction to sip on while on a night out. Give me a tangy, sweet cocktail and i'm a happy girl!

Imagine my excitement, then, when I caught a glimpse of these beautiful tipples, designed by some of London Fashion Week's most exciting fashion talent, all available at the May Fair hotel from the 6th to the 23rd of September.

I have, sadly, never been to the May Fair hotel, but I think this year I will certainly be paying a visit. The luxurious and stylish establishment is the official hotel of London Fashion Week (so is a good bet for some style stalking!) and their designer cocktails are just the cherry on top of some fabulous fashion week treats they have in store. Alongside hosting elite parties every night during LFW, The May Fair are also offering their Fashion Week Treats package which includes an overnight stay, breakfast, discounted beauty treatments and cocktails and cupcakes for two! If anybody wants to treat me this month, look no further. The decadent May Fair Spa has also created some express beauty treatments to revitalise those stressed-out fashion folk.

If you are simply looking for a stylish aftershow drink, you really will not beat these delightful drinkies (above). And at £13 each these cocktails are an accessible taste of Fashion Week's finest designers.

Hopefully i'll see you guys there, i'll be sipping the fruity Corrie Neilson!

For more info visit the May Fair Website or follow them on Twitter at @themayfairhotel

Best of British Launch

I don't know about you, but I am madly in love with Alex Monroe jewellery, and it breaks my heart that my student budget means that my jewellery box is so sparse. My heart sunk a little bit more when I saw these Alex Monroe Best of British pendants, all jubilee ready. The little gingerbread man is quite possibly the cutest thing i've seen in a long time, and that rose gold fox is adorable.

If you're lucky enough to be able to afford one of these treats, head along to their launch event at the Alex Monroe boutique in London. The event is from midday to 8pm on the 31st of May- directions to the Bermondsey store can be found online here

Not only will you be able to gawp at these pretty trinkets, but there are also goodie bags and prizes sponsored by brands like Burt's Bees, Penhaligons, Belvoir and Holdsworth chocolates.

You'd be crazy not to go! More details here.

Oui, Oui Bourjois!

Listen up beauty buffs, this one's for you!

As much as I adore MAC, NARS and Benefit products, i'm not made of money, so thank god for Bourjois- my favourite budget beauty brand around. My face would be even more of a mess if it weren't for their silky mineral mousse foundation and their lovely little rouge pots!

This LFW, Bourjois are launching their first ever pop-up shop on the top floor of the Beach Blanket Babylon in lovely Shoreditch from February 16th-20th. It sounds just amazing with so much going on for us girly girls.

During it's run, the pop-up boutique will offer a number of treats including:
♥ Up to 68% off Bourjois products!
♥ Best-selling products on offer including 2 for £9, 3 for £12 and 4 for £14!

Let's Go See The Stars!

by Shona Wallace, @SWfashion_

I adore the V&A, I feel it is one of fashion's most valuable resources and I really could spend all day in there. It broke my heart that I never quite got round to visiting the Postmodernism exhibition, but i've stumbled upon this article on the Telegraph website, which has given me a whole new exhibition to get excited about!

We all know that the relationship between fashion and film, particularly old Hollywood, is very strong and very influential. Many designers reference old movies and characters in their collections, an example being all the 1920s inspired pieces around for SS12 which coincide with the release of Carey Mulligan's big star turn in The Great Gatsby (can't wait!)

Come October 2012, the V&A will play host to a wonderful exhibition of over 100 iconic outfits from the movies. I, for one, can not wait!

Dreamy pieces include Keira Knightley's emerald silken gown from Atonement and that fantastic Givenchy LBD from Breakfast at Tiffanys, as well as pieces like Darth Vader's cape.

The exhibition has been curated by Deborah Noodleman Landis, a Hollywood costume designer, who wanted the collection to be more than just a bunch of dresses:

"I didn't go looking for costumes, I went looking for characters. This is not a decorative show. There's plenty of glamour - Marilyn Monroe's dress from Some Like It Hot is jaw-dropping in its nakedness... But it's not about the fabulosity, it's about what's inside." (The Telegraph Fashion)

The outfits will stand beside film clips and images to help contextualise the pieces and enhance the experience of the vast exhibition. Can not wait!

Hollywood Costume , sponsored by Harry Winston, opens at the V&A on 20 October 2012. Tickets are available from www.vam.ac.uk/hollywoodcostume.
