Housed atop the old Beeb building car-park, Storeys is a hot-to-trot two-storey space with a whole host of fun activities on offer. Obviously, the main one is eating and drinking, because this is London and that's all we really do (and drink green juice because that cancels out all toxins...) but there is also going to be striking artwork, movie screenings in the evening and early-bird yoga classes with Serene Social, the global wellness community.
The foodie vendors change weekly, but we were lucky enough to have En Brochette on-hand during our visit. En Brochette deserves a shout-out as it is a delicious alternative to carb-laden street food, offering various skewers on a bed of what could well be the best salad I've ever had. I say this because at the press launch the power-cut meant I couldn't actually try the skewers, but I managed to convince the team at En Brochette to whip me up their signature salad. The dressing, ladies and gents, is absolutely dynamite and sugar-free to boot. If I ever find the recipe, I'll post it straight away.
All in all, the whole vibe is totally East London, except for the fact it is West. All food served is from street food traders and the cocktails are unfussy but tasty and dangerously moreish. It's simply a splendid place to spend a chilled-out weekend in August, particularly when the sun shows up.
