Être Cécile's La Bombe sweater: £110.00 here |
It's no secret that I am obsessed with all things French. From Brigitte Bardot through to Breton tees and Pierre Marcolini by Olympia Le Tan macarons (topping my Christmas list), I have a real penchant for all things Parisian. The fact I've never been? Details, darling, details.
For months on end I have been lusting after Bella Freud's Je T'aime Jane jumper, imagining it layered over myriad Equipment shirts and partnered with all manner of skinny jeans, leather minis and denim cut-offs for Seine-side strolls. Sadly I am yet to make her mine, but one fateful day we will live happily ever after on a diet of cafe au lait and almond croissants.
The only thing that puts me off mon pull bien-aimée is it's ubiquity – I feel like everyone has one and everyone looks better in it than I would. Alas, I have found a new French fancy to covet: Être Cécile's rainbow La Bombe sweater.
I have such a soft spot for Être Cécile's unique brand of Parisian-tinged irreverence. Inspired by St. Honoré Girls – the label's imagined girl gang – Être Cécile's playful tees and sweatshirts are a little bit cheeky, a little bit chic and perfectly in tune with fashion's fun new mood. Designed in London by Yasmin Sewell, Kyle Robinson, Jemma Dyas and Rich Normile, it's little wonder that the style set are smitten – on both sides of the Channel.
Though I have a heartfelt fondness for Leandra Medine's (aka The Man Repeller) stripy Boob Pocket T-shirt (£75.00 here – if you're feeling confident), the La Bombe sweaters and tees have to be my favourites. This rainbow stamped number is the ultimate mood-boosting piece – slip it on when you're feeling down to remind yourself that yes, indeed, you really are La Bombe. Because you are and I'm not just saying that.
It's so easy to style, too. At the weekend, give it a tomboyish stamp with ripped jeans and colour-pop kicks or steer it into evening with a swishy silver skirt, jumbo jewels and feather topped sandals. If you're a layering girl, try it over a smart buttoned-up white shirt and team with a primary bright mini skirt. Endlessly versatile, it's the coolest way to blow your Christmas buck.
After all, who doesn't want to be part of the St. Honoré Girl gang? From what I gather, It really is the bomb.
PS
Merry Christmas!
