There is something so alluring about a free spirited way of dressing, something embodied in the summer trends with the 70s references- not that outlandish Studio 54 fabulousness, the softer style. Think a nonchalant, beachy vibe this spring and you have it. And what could be better than a flirty, floaty maxidress to give you that hippy look with ease?
Take one of the high streets numerous flimsy maxi's and make it your own with messy hair, smudgy eyes (look to Topshop's latest make-up collection for some inspiration!) and stacks of unique eclectic jewellery- friendship bracelets, beads, feathers... anything goes.
The trick with this look is to add edge in your own way. Be it a heavy jacket to contrast with the feminine dress or Chanel-style clompy boots (not those stupid biker ones favoured by The Saturdays and their male counterparts The Wanted- they are so old). It is a surprisingly easy look to wear just now.
