A New Direction at Burberry Prorsum!

I hate to be harsh, but Burberry Prorsum's S/S 2011 collection really did not do it for me (neon accessories the exception- Burberry did it best in their ad campaign!). Sure, it's not easy to make snakeskin work, and Christopher Bailey did just this, but the collection on the whole left me a little bit cold. Especially given that Cheryl Cole wore one of the pastel biker jackets on the cover of Elle and it looked a little- dare I say?- tacky. It was just a bit too much for me really, I like my Burberry classic, simple but with a twist.

Well all is forgiven for A/W! Bailey pulled out all the stops with a spectacular show that was a technological fashion revolution- live streaming meant there was not a fashionista in the world who couldn't witness the phenomenal show!

Though there are only so many ways to reinvent a simple trench, Bailey managed to transform Burberry's staple with a flash of delightful colour and some of the most covetable coats around. I will certainly be searching high and low for a budget version of that orange number (paired with black opaques it was just so fresh!). I loved everything about this collection for the beautifully cut coats to the silky dresses and decadent furs. Aah if only money were no object!

And to top it all off? The show culminated with the models walking under fake snow wearing surprisingly cute clear capes. A revolutionary show for Bailey- and I absolutely love it!
