Frida kicks it off with a luscious Gucci show!

A woman hardly known for playing with femininity, Frida Giannini's latest collection for Gucci was a revolution- and oozed glamour from the offset. Flowing with silky fabrics, the show had an understated, far from novelty, ode to the 1970s with some dazzling separates and gowns that you literally dream of.

The colour palette is delicious- all peacock blues, cherry red, muted shades of yellow and rich raspberry. The clothes look expensive and the epitome of Italian luxury. Silky gowns floated down the catwalks on glamorous models with glossy blackberry lips, and these looks were shown alongside shaggy furs and paper-thin, butter-soft leather. It was all a nod to the 1970s but with a more muted and subtle take than last season's show- there was nothing silly about this collection.

The 'Gucci' woman will not be disappointed with this collection- it is high octane glamour with a desirable soft femininity which will carry us all through next season.
