Obviously, I care immensely about this announcement! I have never experienced a royal wedding and I know they can be quite something as they are said to be a reflection of our time- maybe the wedding feast will be courtesy of Iceland? Fabulous as that would be, sadly, I doubt it!
Above all, though, I am so looking forward to finding out who will be behind Kate's dress. I know Kate will make a stunning bride as she is such a classic beauty, and she would look elegant and fantastic in anything. The talk is that she will wear a British designer with names like Amanda Wakeley (favourite), Jenny Packham and Sarah Burton at McQueen being bounced about. I would love to see her do something a little bit different- a designer that isn't totally well-known (as much as a McQueen dress would be marvellous!).
(see more Erdem at vogue.com) I think Kate would totally dazzle in Erdem. Very much the name of the moment, Erdem create dresses that are everything a dress should be: they are beautifully cut- elegant and still edgy, delicately patterned, sculpted out of luxurious fabrics and in such magical colours. The dresses are the stuff of dreams and for Kate, wishing to balance fashion and elegance, they are perfect. She would look so demure in a full-length lace Erdem gown and it would really make a statement about how wonderful fashion in Britain is!

Another name that has been mentioned is LCF graduate, William Tempest. I absolutely ADORE his work and his upcoming S/S collection had made me think that he could make an absolutely breathtaking dress for the event of the century. He has been quoted as saying:
"Kate would look stunning in a long ivory Grecian-inspired dress incorporating drapery but at the same time being form-fitting allowing her to show her amazing figure..." (contactmusic.com)
I certainly agree that Kate would look fantastic in one of Tempest's draped designs- as they are so lovely and, again, very fashion-forward.
Whatever she wears, she will look enviably beautiful and I could not be happier at the prospect of Kate becoming a royal.
ps.
The ring is jaw-droppingly gorgeous! So envious!
