Clompy and Cool...

So as the sunny spells begin to fizzle out its time to put away our lovely lace-up gladiators and pastel-toned brogues and bring out the boots! There are so many hot winter boot styles around for A/W 2011 and I will do a feature on each but first up is the super-shoe of the season. The Hiking Boot. These heavy, but still sexy shoes were seen on the Burberry catwalks and have since been hailed the "ultimate wardrobe update" working with everything from jeans to flirty dresses, so here is my pick of the best I have seen.

Models on the Burberry Prorsum catwalk stomped down in these towering, yet casual high boots that top all those in the know's fashion wishlist. The Burberry pair are as cheap as they are practical at £695 but they truly are the creme de la creme of this trend.

However on the high-street I have found many worthy of a mention. The most similar to these ones that I have seen have been at New Look at £34.99. They have the exact same buckle-detail and the shearling trim making them identical to the iconic trend-setting Burberry Prorsum ones.

On a different note, Asos.com have done a wonderful array of variations of the boot making more flattering versions at affordable prices. These pairs are both a less clompy boot looking more elegant but still tapping into the trend with details like the sole-grip and the shearling to add a fashion edge to any outfit.

Another way to wear this style is in a flat boot. The look is less severe but still ultimately on trend making for an easy wardrobe update. This Topshop pair are ideal looking comfortable and easy to wear with all the details of the Burberry pair minus the dangerous heel. These are perfect for those who want the trend minus the typical aching feet of statement shoes!
