Buying for boys is never easy. Particularly buying for boys on Valentine's Day. They have it so easy, don't they? They just need to look on your Pinterest 'Wishlist' board and they're sorted. Boys are not so simple, particularly not super picky hipster boys. 

I've come to the conclusion, having attended a fair few blogger events in my youth (ah – the golden days), that most young, fashion girls have fittingly handsome, beared, borderline hipster boyfriends. Usually on hand to hold the camera when she needs her #ootd or whatever the kids call it these days.

While I am currently sans-boyfriend, and am rather more excited at the prospect of deep fried Mars bar pancakes at chic Scottish (words which usually don't go together) eatery Mac & Wild, I feel like I understand this thoroughly modern breed of man.

The Best Food in Shoreditch: Oklava

Make no mistakes – I love Kate Moss. However, Kate once said something a bit silly: "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels." Oh Kate... It seems my darling Mossy had not yet tried a Turkish pide by Selin Kiazim at her glorious new Shoreditch outpost, Oklava, which I can 100% confirm tastes miles better than it feels to be skinny.

Granted it's not the most detox-friendly plate for kicking off 2016 but who actually cares? Life is too short to subsist solely on buddha bowls and green goddess this-that-and-the-other. Working in the fashion media, surrounded by magazines, websites, bloggers and Instagram hype, it's hard to know who to trust when it comes to beauty products.

Product reviews are often paid-for, sponsored, or part of a broader brand agreement and it seems honesty is no longer the best, nor the most profitable, policy for bloggers and editors.

I say this as I have spent far too much money on hyped-up products promising me Blake Lively-level hotness overnight, only to wake up looking exactly the same, if a little sad to have spent so much on a teeny-tiny pot of nothingness.
